Luis Lamboy Sr.

Luis Lamboy Sr., born on March 20, 1944, in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully in New York City on December 13, 2024, at the age of 80. A proud and true New Yorker, Luis moved to the Bronx where he lived for much of his life, becoming a beloved figure in his community. Known for his hard work, passion for life, and love of a good beer, Luis was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, from sunbathing to sharing stories with those he cared about. Luis was survived by his devoted wife, Florence Hampson, whom he met through her sister, and their three children, Luis, James, and Yetta Lynn. He also leaves behind two cherished granddaughters, Katie and Nicole Ward. Luis was a loving brother to Raymond, John, Sylvia, and Jolanda, and uncle to his nieces and nephews with whom he shared many fond memories. A man of great character, Luis was loved by all who knew him, and his presence will be deeply missed. His legacy of hard work, love for his family, and joy in life will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
